Top tip

The String of Hearts isn't a succulent, but it mirrors it in many ways. It stores water in its stems and leaves, so you'll be forgiven if you forget to give it a drink for a while.

About String of Hearts

This Prickle Plant is a romance and whimsy lover's dream. Nicknamed the String of Hearts for its heart-shaped leaves that grow in a downward trail. Luckily, this beautiful houseplant isn't as complicated as romance can be tough. The String of Hearts plant just wants to make you happy so its care is straightforward. They love dry environments, so avoid the mist, and keep them in bright, indirect sunlight.

While the trailing hearts plant isn't a succulent, it has the benefits of one. This thoughtful partner plant stores water to make life easier for you, so you rarely need to water it. They only ask for water when their soil is dry or their leaves are crisping. If you do overwater them their leaves will turn yellow.

Whatever temperature you prefer, your String of Hearts plant is happy with too, you can keep them anywhere between 12-30°C! The gorgeous Ceropegia Woodii is a slow grower and will reach a maximum length of 1.8m. We think the perfect home for your chain of hearts plant is on a shelf in your living room or bedroom where you can show off their beautiful trailing leaves.

The only downside to your new partner is that they are toxic to children and pets, but hey, nobody’s perfect!

At Prickle, we are always here to hear you! Send us your String of Hearts questions @Prickleplantsuk.
