Top tip

The Fiddle-leaf Fig is different from other Ficus's as its leaves are so large. In fact, they can grow up to 30cm long.

About Fiddle-leaf Fig

This tall, indoor plant is large and in charge! While it might be slow-growing, the Fiddle-leaf Fig can grow to an impressive 2m tall! Its main shouting point though is its big, beautiful, green leaves which can grow to 30cm long! This statement piece plant looks fantastic in any home and is great in living rooms and hallways.

Fiddle-leaf Fig tree care is simple and low maintenance, regularly water them and give them an occasional mist and they'll be more than satisfied. If its leaves are dropping, they may need more water - they're a big houseplant after all! As they come from West Africa, your Ficus Lyrata likes to be kept in bright, indirect sunlight in a nice warm area of your home (16-24°C) to help them flourish.

While they may seem like the big tough guy, they do get a little nervous and sad when moving home - but don't worry, the Ficus Lyrata will cheer up once they settle in! Be sure to keep little Pricklettes (human or animal) away from your fig leaf tree, as they are toxic to pets and children.

At Prickle, we are always here to hear you! Send us your Fiddle-leaf Fig questions @Prickleplantsuk.
